Problem mixing magic potion

Get to the part where you have to stir clockwise four times, then anti clockwise two times etc. But after only stirring clockwise twice at the start, it fails. Tried this several times now and happens every time. Not sure what else to try? Help? Thanks

I started from the bottom (6 o'clock position) and made a slow, wide circling movement with the mouse cursor and it worked first time. You might have encountered a game bug, though.

It also worked for me the first time; I always started at 12 o'clock.

I was ready to pull my hair out before I finally got that part. Took at least 8 to 10 tries. I believe I usually started at about 1 - 3 o'clock... I think I always failed on the final circle, though; don't recall it blowing up on me after only two. Well, I know this reply isn't particularly helpful, but just wanted to comment on how crazy this part of the game made me :S

Persevered and finally managed it after starting at about 3 o'clock. Any other starting point and it always failed after two stirs :/ thanks for the replies

I think i tried it about 100 times before i get it right

ended the game for me, I even tried sending them the savegame. Of course I got no response. I give up. Shame I liked the game before that.

This was a pain in my ass but i managed to figure out the easy way to to it. start anywhere from 12-3 o clock on the edge of the pot, slowly rotate clockwise until you see the potion turn a gray color (I didn't even really count the number of stir times). The second this color change happens, stir counter clockwise twice as stated. It will turn colors again, and once again as soon as this happens stir clockwise again otherwise it'll probably blow (seems pretty sensitive). It will change color again and Wilbur will say the next step. The key thing here is to go SLOW and be patient. I screwed up a bunch and I realized the reason I did was because I thought I had to go fast or even a semi normal speed. Just take your time and watch for the color changes and change direction when you see them, should hopefully work out fine for you! :)

Thnaks! Yeah I know I bumped this year old thread, but it's the first one that comes up in a search and I know it works.

Worked like a charm. Just do it REAL slow and wait for the colors to turn. Don't even bother to count them. Just make sure you go the right direction and change when the color changes. Got it the first time this way too. :)

I have coordination problems, and can't get through "as quickly as possible." I have sensory problems too, and the animation, especially the zooming, would give me trouble, and force me to shield my eyes, but the interface and the absence of time limits had been forgiving enough until now.

I too had a lot of trouble with this part; but have found that you don't need to stir,"as quickly as possible" to succeed...as others have said, it's more deliberate and making sure that the colours turn before adding the new items...

Well, I still can't get past this. It hurts my good hand. Maybe the game isn't quite compatible with my mouse, or with my scrolling software. I know some other apps aren't, including some Steam apps.

I know this is 3 years late but I want to thank you for this solution. I was ready to quit this game! lol.
