I had thought that the reviews were fairly positive, so when I read this, I looked. Indeed, the reviews for Empire Divided are Mixed. But, reading the top four recent negative reviews, two of them claimed that there was nothing new in the DLC and another claims that it has invisible units.
In actuality, there is a new disease system, a new politics system, and a new banditry system. It's sad that those first two reviewers didn't even take the time to notice those huge new systems before writing such inaccurate reviews.
Also, the reviewer with invisible units has a mod breaking the game, so that review is inaccurate too. I haven't looked through the rest, but I suspect that many more of the negative ones are just as flawed.
The definition I provided was the top result when I searched for Social Justice Warrior, which was:
"Social justice warrior" (commonly abbreviated SJW) is a pejorative term for an individual promoting socially progressive views, including feminism, civil rights, multiculturalism, and identity politics."
And so my following comment was in relation to that.
That definition also pretty much matches my own experience of being accused of being an SJW because I do stand up for people's rights and believe strongly in things like civil rights and equality. I have also seen it most commonly used to try and shut down or dismiss a person's views, much like "fanboy," "shill," "hater" and "troll,"
That said, others have since provided other defintitions for Social Justice Warrior in this thread, and further research on my part has shown me that it is used in a variety of ways and contexts. I still don't think it's a particularly nice term, but I do now understand that the context in which it is being applied is also relevent to the meaning.
All the Best,
Welsh Dragon.
In common parlance - if someone even vaguely normal says this to you in real life it's pretty uncontroversial because they obviously mean Wolfie Smith not Rosa Parks. I mean "warrior", right? Every part of the term SJW sounds noble and the implication is that the person is/stands for none of those things - it's openly sarcastic.
Don't get me wrong - of course like anything else left/right wing extremists and overly literal people get hold of it so some people mean "anyone who isn't as right wing as me" and others say "you obviously hate equality if you use this term" and it turns into both of those things. Sad really. I wouldn't assume that when someone says it, though.
Disclaimer: I don't speak for everyone. Just an observation.
Edit: for weirdly grumpy tone. I have no coffee this morning.
If you're going to troll, at least try.
