Did anybody else really like Coil?
When I first played it on ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ years ago I thought it was a piece of trash. I must have been too young to appreciate it then, because playing it now I find the atmosphere and storytelling to be top notch. I know Mcmillen says in the commentary that he's not a big fan of the narrative style but I actually love it. What do you think?

e: wow the wordfilter seriously censors [home of the flash portal]?

I really enjoyed it as well. Enough to shed a tear, actually. *huge dork right here*

I only played it through one time, but I'm sure I'll be playing more of it. It has great atmosphere, although I wasn't reading in to the story too far.

It's a cool idea, but it certainly needs some polish. I don't think Ed gives himself enough credit for the "copy the rotating arrows" idea to continue past each screen; he says that a lot of people weren't conscious of what they were doing, but at least for me, when I realized what I had to do, I thought it was rather ingenious.

I thought the storytelling was at least unique, if a bit convoluted. The plot itself isn't expressed very well through the poetry, and as Ed has said, the gameplay is entirely opposite to the narrative of the game. That makes things a lot more confusing than they should be, but it was a good thing to try.

Overall, I think Coil is definitely one of his more interesting works. One of the best, not to me at least. For me, that'd be Spewer, Time ♥♥♥♥, and Aether (leaving aside Super Meat Boy and The Binding of Isaac).

Well it was good. But they should have make the Stages longer with a better goal and enemys.
Good idea and game norm too. But I don't like it. First - for complete this game need 5 min. Second - it's intersting story but it's bad gameplay. Just some really easy puzzles and that's all. Interesting idea but bad realization.

Coil was funny, I don't think I've seen another game like it with the exception of a game where by the end you actually turn out to be a cancerous tumor eating a persons body. That said, it did make me feel a bit grossed out. The text parts were quite ominous.
I loved Coil <3

I completed it without really even knowing what I was doing. Just waggle the mouse around and you win!

It's interesting as an idea, I guess, but I wouldn't buy it as a standalone game, even if it were longer.

It was okay.I would have liked it if they exsplained more.Geting out of the loding screeens was confusing.

Loved it. I was actually pretty disappointed with how short it was compared to some of the other games. :(
