Some help with Shynie on Day 15?
Simply put, I'm getting my head handed to me in this fight. If it's not her constant throwing knives or that hovering knives attack it's the mooks that keep spamming homing projectiles.

I've been able to get her to about a quarter of her health bar, before she goes into "pissy boss mode", with Physical Defense Boost and HP Boost, but I keep getting overwhelmed. My moveset is as follows:
- Arc Slicer
- Crescent Spike
- Sonic Rampage
- Lightning Drop

Some advice on how to handle everything would be great - just trying to block anything incoming or backstep to safety while staying on the move and picking my shots isn't enough.

First thoughts: Your playstyle is completely different from mine. Neat. Instead of the very defensive optional skill combo you use, I tend to use STR Boost, which gives a near-universally applicable damage bonus (although magic is unaffected), and Regenerate, since I find it to be the most useful passive for avoiding death.

I use Arc Slicer and Lightning Drop too, but I always bring Silhouette Mirage (for when your guard bar is filling up and you can't just backstep) and Tears of Sol (for comboing together with Lightning Drop).

From your post, I gather that your general strategy is to hang back and, where possible, take some free swings at her, and the problem you're facing is that you can't dodge the minions and Shynie at the same time. My method of attack is this: when a minion spawns, get it between myself and the boss, then kick it with the forward+attack->attack combo as many times as possible. When it dies, I go back to my fallback strategy, which is to run in, take about two normal swings, then block and (if I can time it right) backstep to reduce the risk of guard break. I don't know if any if this will help you, but I figure it's worth a try.

Hopefully, this helps you somehow.

Edit, a few minutes later, after retrying that stage on Cruel: Ow. Also, mooks spamming homing projectiles? The mooks only fire the incredibly annoying splitting magic bullets. The aimed knives/lasers are actually what Shynie does when she gets low on health.

I found that using Silhoutte Mirage as an upward dodge/evade helps with the myriad of knives she uses to break your guard once she gets low on health.

Hard turtle, HP, crescent cut, arc slicer.

Hoo, man. . . it took a few tries (over half a dozen), but I managed to take her down with HP Boost and regen, and integrated Silhouette Mirage into the mix replacing Sonic Rampage. I wound up hanging back and getting as many of those HP recovery items the big guys drop when they die as I could and going on the offensive as much as possible. Feels good, really good.

Ok, One tip to beat that boss, when your hp goes less than the half just defend yourself and attack her twice or 3 times and wait for the attack, I used to defend of the air, that works very good.

There's no boss in the game which you can't beat with Hard Turtle + Regen. You're hurt? Hold block and wait. Guard is still almost breaking? Hold block and start tapping left and right. Also, it should be noted that "motionless" magics can be cast while blocking so you can still keep your damage going even while in recovery phase.

Manually learning the fight would be a loooot more fun, though. This tactic is rather boring.

It's very easy to kill Shynie. Equip Rune Soul (preferably max level) and Regeneration as optionals, and Peacock as your main attacking skill. Just jump up to the highest mushroom, stay there and block/backstep her throwing daggers. She will never climb up to your place, so avoiding daggers is easy. Use Peacock between her attacks then just block/backstep again until your magic fills up.

Actually, EVERY boss can be killed like this, you don't even need to climb up. Just backstep without stopping and use Peacock when it's safe. Never release the block button - just hold it, move constantly and use magic. Make sure you don't stop moving for a second.

If you're pro at blocking/avoiding damage, you can replace Regeneration with INT boost or something else that raises magic attack for faster kills. Works perfectly even on cruel difficulty - I take bosses down with full hp all the way, though if bosses were real persons they would call me a rat.
