Not to belabor the point, but the argument that Aragorn being black contradicts the canon of the story of Lord of the Rings in a relevant way is inherently reliant on the premise that Aragorn's whiteness is crucial to the narrative. There really isn't a way to spin that premise in the context of Lord of the Rings without it being explicit white supremacist propaganda. And given Tolkien's own opinions on the German Nazi Party of the late 1930s, I think it's safe to say that the very notion of his story being interpreted that way would be upsetting.

I think, being a deep reader of the original scripture, that MTG/Hasbro is seriously covering up their blatant misgendering of Aragorn (who identifies clearly as a senior woman who enjoy a good game of scrabble alongside a cup of tea) with that color switch.

Alchemy Furnace sounds like it'd be a fun card. They should print it. I'm thinking artifact that sacrifices some sort of thing to create something else.
