Resting
Hey kids, I'm new to this forum, so if I make a mistake, please forgive me :) Just a quick question - my character wants to sleep, and needs it because my health and mana are low as well. How do I sleep? Is going to a bed the only way to sleep, or can you sleep whilest in a mission?

You can sleep in most beds. Other than Joram's house there are a few abandoned houses in Aleroth, or other places. You can rent a room at the Ducal inn in Verdistis, but there isn't much reason to.

You can combine 2 stacks of straw to make a hay bed. If you combine straw on the ground you can not move the hay afterwards, but it can be made inside a container or directly in your inventory. There are barns in the farmlands with hay that you can sleep in (may need to talk to the farmer first).

Food can also restore a bit of health (meat/bread) or mana (chicken).

Tips and Tactics

Once you get your vitality and mana above 80, you can start using restoration potions[www.larian.com], and may no longer need to sleep.

Are there any ways you can make your mana\health recharge without sleeping or potions? Like some kind of power?
The passive skill Survivor's Instinct will slowly regenerate your health; it isn't fast enough to make a difference during combat, but it is kind of handy to top off your health after a fight if you teleport back to base to drop off loot or check traders, etc. The active skill Life Leech can be used during combat, and IIRC a similar skill can show up on melee weapons. I don't think there are any similar spells for mana.

At the start of the game you need to use food or sleep to conserve potions, but if you collect loot and trade the crappy stuff for potions whenever you check merchants, you'll build up enough of a supply of restoration potions (at low levels individual health and mana potions are more effective) that you don't need to worry about running out.
