Ranking system is really counter intuitive.
I'm enjoying the game so far, it's a really cool idea, but I hate the ranking system. This is because you basically sold me on the game by being able to build bigger and better, awesome ships with 100 guns and have this amazing battle. Except now to ace any level I have to use as little resources as possible and basically stick with the ship I'm given.

I think it'd be a lot cooler to have it rank you based on how many parts you lost in the fight or damage taken. Just so that getting a perfect rank doesn't hinder making a cool ship.

be glad you bought it on sale.. it's disapointing in other areas for myself too.

I picked this up in the sale too. while the 'campaign' mode is good, what this game really needs is a free mode of some sort, one where you can build whatever you want, and put it up against whatever you want. Now that would be fun.
I agree with you wolf and Matty. The game have a great potencial, but we can't do much in-game. And the system that you have to have a number of stars to play the next level is really boring for who just wants to play without commitment.

MattyRasker: Exactly. A free mode is what I was expecting after beating the game and was really dissapointed it wasn't there. The game is extremely awesome, fun and creative which is a pretty rare thing on PC's (although I agree that the ranking system is stupid) but what's the point of almost limitless options to build a ship when you beat the game in a few hours and after that there's nothing more? We can just hope that the developers will release a DLC or sequel that includes a free mode. Shouldn't even be that hard. All of it is in game already, just make a level with selectable enemies or something. Or perhaps a survival mode where the enemies keep coming in waves? That would be cool, although probably harder for the devs. A basic free mode would do.
I quite like it i think the physics is a bit iffy though and free play would be epic as for the ranking system having it for the amount of parts lost would be a lot better but I think there should still be some sort of budget otherwise it sortof loses that theme of resourcefullness and scavenging maby there should be some kind of system where whatevers left of the enemies tank/ship thing gets given to you (not including the bits you destroy and the central HQ thing) also it would be good if there was some kind of engines and limeted people with limeted skills so you could have a gunner, and engineer (for engines) and a driver and you ensla- hire the people who survive on the enemy tank.
