Tips on manning a system?
Hey all. I'm somewhat new to this game (played close to a dozen attempts now...), but there's still a question I can't find the answer to: I recognize their are multiple positions in rooms so as to speed up the repair time or quickly put out fires with your crew, but does this same concept apply to manning the shields or weapons system? Can I put multiple crew members in those systems to further increase the benefits beyond simply 1 person manning them? So far, I can't tell, although something tells me it's a "no."

You will only receive any benefit from one person per system. Having two or more wastes the potential benefits you receive from your crew.

Also, systems don't count as manned if your crew are busy in that room repairing them, fixing hull breaches, putting out fires, or fighting intruders or mind-controlled crew members. (Though I think the FTL still charges as long as your crew are on the bridge, even if they're busy?)

Yup, and you keep the engines + manned engines dodge%. All you lose is the piloting manned bonus (5%, 7% or 10%).

Oh, and another thing that prevents manned bonuses: Ion damage and hacking drones (even without actually hacking - if it's attached to the room and powered then it prevents the bonus).
