Multiverse mod - stuck on a loading screen, worked fine
So my PC crashed and now ftl gets stuck on Multiverse loading screen, the music starts playing but the bar is stuck on the last ‘E’ letter. I’ve tried validating the steam files but that didn’t help.

If I delete ftl and reinstall the mod will that also delete my progression?

If the mod worked fine in the past, but stopped working after the crash, it's likely because the save files got corrupted. To fix it:
  1. In Documents/My Games/FasterThanLight, you should have a hs_mv_prof.sav and hs_mv_version.sav
  2. Delete the hs_mv_version.sav
  3. Move the hs_mv_prof.sav to another folder (do not delete it)
  4. Run the game and once it loads to the main menu close it again
  5. Then move your original hs_mv_prof.sav back where it was before, replacing the one that was created by the game

I got this advice from the Discord channel. From what I'm seeing, it seems to work well for a lot of people.

Thanks, removing all of the ms_hs files and relaunching the game helped!

Sorry to hear that you had to remove all the MV files. Fortunately, if you remember which ships you've unlocked, it's possible to get them back using console.

To do that:
  1. Start a run.
  2. Press L to open up the console.
  3. Then type: SHIP_CUSTOM <id>
  4. Hit Enter to confirm.
  5. Return to the hangar.
To find the ID number for a specific ship, you can use this link[ftlmultiverse.fandom.com] as a guide. For example, to unlock a Civilian ship, the console command should be SHIP_CUSTOM PLAYER_SHIP_CIVILIAN.

Actually I just removed them all - then launched the game - then put them all back - and then I could continue in my multiverse run with all my progression intact

I also had this problem, but after I tried the -opengl, now it just says
Failed to find address for function AchievementTracker::GetShipAchievements
I need help with this.

That sounds like you didn't downgrade.

Doesn't just sound like that, it in fact isn't downgraded. this only happens when hyperspace fails to hook a function with a different signature.

Downgrade the game with the by hyperspace given downgrade.bat file.
