Oh god...the Burning Rangers track
Whoever designed this track needs to be castrated. Just, jesus christ, what were they thinking? I've been trying for an hour and am unable to even get 3rd in the world tour race for it. It's just such a clusterbomb of a track there;s 0 margin of error but it doesn't matter for the AI because of their rubberbanding.

Is there ANY character that's good with this level?

I have trouble with this track too, what confuses me the most is the green arrows - their animation always makes me think I have to turn THE OPPOSITE WAY they're pointing.

I think the only advice I could give is: try using a character with good handling.

There are many characters. Just try to find one with descent handling and acceleration, I'd suggest 3 accel minimum, and depending on your level of comfort with handling 2 min. but I'd suggest 3.
Like you I hated this track at first, but now it's one of my fave's.

It's the best track in the game.
No joking.

Finally, I got the Gold for the World Tour race! Needless to say, I have newfound respect for Amigo. I'll be using him more :D

I noticed though in lap 2 on the part where it splits to two paths, the right one with the boost gate and ramp, Amigo sometimes gets stuck on it and can barely move. Anyone else experience this?

@Gigan II I havent' noticed that, but if you're refering to the part I think you are(1:30 of prime sonic's last vid...for ref), stick to the left path, it's faster.

Certainly not the best but you gotta love the originality of the design. I ended this race like 2nd in A class with Sonic and Boost mod. Here's a hint. Handling, boost, win. With enough handling, you avoid the walls easily. With enough boost, you can catch up with tricks. Acceleration is barely ever useful but that's me. I like med-speed, high handling and med/high boost for my races. I found I was best with those.

I usually try to play as AiAi or a character with solid turning and low overall top speed in this level.

I think it is fine and as a fan of Burning Rangers I think SUMO did a pretty good job with the unique nature of the game's level progression. I really like hearing Chris' dialog and seeing Tillis and Shou fly around the course too.

The Billy Hatcher level is the real crapper of the game. Beyond it just sucking, I have no idea why we got another Billy level but no Streets of Rage, Shenmue (would have loved the pier around Christmas) or Phantasy Star courses? Come on.

Funny you say this, I remember reading that Galactic Parade (the Sonic Colors stage) was originally meant to be a Phantasy Star level and would have been if Sonic Colors had not happened.

Concerning the original post, with proper timing and practice this course can be played with anyone; I've personally won an S-Rank race on it using Vyse and the Dreamcast mod, which kills his acceleration and handling in favor of maxing speed and boost. At one point I also had a top-10 time trial time with the same character/stats. But, if you're really having issues, handing is the way to go. I believe many would recommend that, if you're having difficulty steering, your best bet is to try using Amy, who I believe has the best handling in the game, or at least very high up there.

Sonic Colors is one of my least favorite recent SEGA games so that is a major bummer. Made even worse by Sonic's all-star theme in this game.

Hoping a potential sequel has Chemical Plant Zone (they can just reuse the assets from Generations) instead of Sonic Heroes and modern Sonic levels. I would be okay with Eggmanland from Sonic Unleashed though, that would be cool. Actually, it should happen.

Amy with every mod that gives you 4 in handling.
