Can I remove the stages intro videos to workaround an issue?
Hi as I mentioned in this topic:
http://steamcommunity.com/app/212480/discussions/0/810939351259597333/#c684839199147634225
I have an issue that when the race starts it stuck and showing me a black screen for like 8 seconds because of what seems as a graphics card driver issue on WIN 8.1
now I don't know how to solve the issue, so is there a way to delete the stages intro videos somehow please?
I really don't wanna do that but for now I can only think about a workaround of getting rid of the videos or replacing them with a stupid low quality video / static image.
same for the players select if possible please.

Here's again the video showing you the issues:

Hey,

Sorry for not responding to your earlier thread, I must have skipped over it.

The two separate issues mentioned here are related.

There is a way to remove the stage intro flybys for most game modes, but that's not the problem here unfortunately. It will show the black screen as you're seeing a delay in rendering assets, caused by either sluggish draw calls or some I/O problem with loading.

  • Are you running an anti-virus? Either you didn't mention it or I missed over it entirely :(

  • Have you tried running ASN_App_PcDx9_Final.exe as an Administrator?

  • What makes you sure that it is Windows 8.1 that's causing the problem? Did you have this problem before upgrading to the newer OS?

  • Have you tried lowering the resolution of the game to see if that affects the time you see the black screen?

  • Is Transformed installed on a desktop HDD? Or is it running off an External HDD?

  • Lastly, system specs or a DxDiag report would be awesome.

Thank you for replying,
1. I do use the default "Windows defender" anti virus, I just tried to turn it off and see but no luck.
2. I did also turned off the internet connection and nope.
3. I turned off windows update and no.
4. It was working great on WIN 8.0 with the prev version of Intel HD graphics card driver.
5. I just tried to lowering the resoloution and quality all the way down to low and 320px and even on wondow mode and no luck.
6. The game is installed on my default laptop HDD, no external HDD in use.
7. Here's my DxDiag hope it will help: http://pastebin.com/9gvbi1d1

So from what you are saying the issue is not with the loading of the videos, but loading the race in total which means even if I will replace/remove the videos it will still stuck in a delay of 8 seconds trying to load the race right?

If you wish I have no problem to give you a control over my PC if it will may help solving the issue, so let me know if it needed.
I'm sure when time will come more users will have that issue after upgrading to WIN8.1 with same graphic card driver.

Thanks Prime, but I already know and used this tip.
What I was asking is for the video of the stage right before the race starts.
And as IceBlade mentioned, even if I do that it's not gonna help since the problem is not with loading the video but with loading the data in general.

Good thank you very much for replying, at least I now know it's not that my laptop sucks or something like that.

We now need to make sure that it's the graphics card problem, this we can do by knowing if anyone else who have this game on WIN8.1 with a different graphics card, and see if it does or doesn't works for him.
IceBlade, do you know someone like that and can please check it for us?

OK as PrimeSonic mentioned here:

He does run it on WIN8.1 with no problems, so yes, this is probably the Intel HD graphics 4000 card problem.
isn't it IceBlade?
PrimeSonic, can you please approve that you are using an other graphics card and which one is it?

Is there anyone out there? (echo echo ehco...)

If it works for you on WIN8.1 please mention which graphics card do you have and how did you upgrade to WIN8.1 was it from the store or a clean fresh install?

I just checked, and I can confirm there is an issue with Intel HD Graphics 4000 on Windows 8.1. I don't know if it affects just this game.

Specifically, the game uses a giant chunk of CPU time when loading in assets. This can be seen during any load screen, or by rapidly scrolling through the character list. It really brings the poor CPU down to his knees O.o

Everything's fine when using the AMD HD6970, though.

one option is to install superior windows 7

Borrowing a friend's Windows 8.1 laptop with Intel HD4000 graphics to see what's going on. Hopefully will report back soon.
