Game questions
Hello all, I had a few questions about the game. So instead of posting multiple threads, I could post them here instead.

First and foremost, I haven't re-maped the controls. And yet when i press W, I don't get any bursts of spead. Is there a special piece of equipment I need on my ship?

Second, I'm trying to decide what equipment to pickup before I leave that first system. I saved up enough for the mk3 energy weapon (who's name completely escapes me). Should I invest in a new weapon, or do you think I should keep my mk 1 weapon and save up for a new ship?

ok, so no one was able to answer those questions, so I have a few more.

Does anyone know where the best spot is to get a cheap tractor beam? I'd like to start picking up those drops from pirates.

You need a Booster to get the W to give you a speed boost.

Regarding weapons, you should always consider two factors, the weapons DPS (Damage Per Second) and the weapons' range. Each weapon category (Blaster, Laser etc) has different weapons, and I found it best to have a mixture of weapon-types with the best range/DPS ratios.

I wouldn't worry about buying anything unless it is significantly better than what you already have.

ok, cool thanks! during that tutorial lvl right in the beginning, you pressed W and you went. when you released W, you stopped. It acted like a booster from freelancer (which is the only game I have to compare this game to right now).

My question is, what booster was that? So I can keep an eye out for it.

The tutorial ship has some unique components that you do not have after you're set free into the game proper. So I'm not sure what boost component you have. The drill that you have for the tutorial is superior (100% Control, 100% Ore drilled) and you have to find a blueprint to re-create that particular drill.
