I regret buying this game
The game looks and sounds okay, but the gameplay makes absolutely no sense. I know this isn't a simulator, but even for an arcade racer it's just really bad. It feels like you're 'driving' a hoovercraft.

Physics are just way off.

Specially when you're into simracers, avoid this game and get Race07 or Asetto Corsa instead. This is a waste of time.

Hm. I'm in to simracers and don't think the physics are terrible. I even can compare the reactions of one car (I owned a 308GTB) to real life and found it to be very sound.

feels real to me but games insanely hard even with the old cars wich im having better succews with
I think the newer cars have a simulation problem. They are deliberatly produced for the electronic assistance. Take that away, and well even Schumacher doesn't do his best (e.g. he sets the mannetino to normal at some points of the nordschleife). This game and not one other that I know of goes the length of simulating actual electronics that are common nowadays.

I have gtr2 race 07, gtr evolution and asetto , only asetto corsa is fun to drive but both gtr `s and race07 are not realistic at all and no fun , if you think that`s simracing you never drove a real car .I think ferrari test drive is a great game and more realistic and better graphics !
I have all racegames to compare .

I don't have Assetto Corsa, so I do not have a direct comparison, but its usually said that it is more on the arcade side. I think you confuse overall fun and graphical quality / atmosphere with accurate simulation.

Actually I drive a 944 and once owned (and drove hard) a '77 308 GTB Steel Carb at ca. 270 PS. So don't tell me I don't know what I'm talking about. the later 308GTB QV is actually in this game and while its slower the handling is spot on.

this game actually has a real feeling of weight, this is what is throwing most people off, play any gran turismo or forza or any of the RACE series with all assists off and the cars behave very similar to this game.

I don't regret it.

I agree with most of the other posters, don't find the physics so bad. I do like that there's differences between all the cars, how they sound and drive. Maybe they all don't handle equally well or convincingly in all cases, but credit SMS for giving it a good shot.

I think the complaints about TD:FRL result from the game design: the incorporation of many arcade/console gaming elements with a few more sim-like aspects and coming up with a game that truly pleases neither camp. Take the rigid Campaign mode, the inconsistent difficulty levels and an unpolished feel in some respects, the end result is not to everyone's liking. For example, I have a prominent fuel gauge in the HUD, when do I ever get dropped into a race where I might actually need to make a pit stop ? Or some silly things thrown in here and there to spice up the repetitive action, why on earth would an arm cramp prevent me from changing gears ?

Yet this game has something that makes me want to keep playing. Reminds me of Enthusia or Total Immersion Racing, games that got mixed or bad reviews back in their day but that are memorable to me despite their obvious flaws.

I'm annoyed that everytime i start it up, all the volume sliders are at max, even after I've set them lower multiple times.
OG........This game is awesome, other racing games are easy compared to this game. No Regret Here.....! add me for multiplay

Multiplayer is pretty much impossible. I checked last year, there were never more than 40 steamers that played the game at one time, and those were not the ones looking for online races.

Only chance is to befriend owners and make appointments.

I think the performance of certain cars is not realistic. The Ferrari 125 S is a lot faster than it should and the F1 87 can't get past 310km/h at the Nordschleife straight.
