What's your favorite race?
My favorite would be the Hoburgs. Sure the Burgmeister himself isn't very impressive, but that doesn't matter much once I start churning out armies of magical robots. It also helps that they can enhance farms.

I love Bakemono.
Free garrison for any iron mines you capture and those that can summon can always bolster their armies.

:) I kinda like Priest King (massive armies of slaves with magicuser behind them). Druid is interesting too. Still haven't figured out a bunch of them though.

Witches and Troll King
Would have to say Warlocks!
Troll King and Baron have been my two go to classes when I'm looking for a quick game. Druid and Burgmeister are probably my two favorite when I want to play longer games. Thematically I absolutely love the Bakemono but for the life of me I can't play it successfully. I'm so bad with it and I don't know why.

I love the Pale Ones; they have a tough early game but they get really powerful once your seer shows up and you start capturing mines for summons.

Always keep coming back to the necromancer, just so many different things that happen there.
Also, I have yet to actually succeed in making a lich, so I keep waiting for that random temple to pop up. Voice of El being a close second, for basically the same reason, I have yet to actually break the seventh seal.

i really like the voice of el but my favorite is defintely the demonologist because of the insane number of magic users you get and if you can control them the stupidly powerful demon princes (500 hundred sacrifice one on standard)

My favorites are those classe that can use "dominate will"-like abilities, so I prefer cultist, priestess, enchanter, espeshially the last that can do it massively. With some luck you can get a troll king or chimera in your army at the very begining of the game. Enchanter is also interesting due to "terraforming" - you can conquer ancient forest or iron mine that is used by you enemy as fortress... and transfor it into unit!-)

And cultist is very powerful due to his great summon ability that. Get queen (or mind lord, that is great too) for 100 s., get king with some support (or great army without king) for 150 more - and here is your expansion army. Basalt roayl family is great. Tought enough (are not going to die from one or two mass destruction spells), with great summoning & drowning spells. That are the cheapest hight end summons in game.

Troll King first, witches second, demonologist third

It is hard for me to pick just one because I tend to play teams and campaigns which totally changes the game.

I like Enchanter and Baron, or Troll King and Dwarf Queen, or Witch and Warlock.

I added a "Favorite Class" poll to the Main Page of the -Conquest of Elysium Wikia-[] a while ago, if you want to show your devotion and help build a consensus on the most popular classes, then you should pay it a visit and cast your vote in to the ring.

Can you get special factions playable as do the AI, by random chance? I know you can get them through edit of map or by downloading custom map, but is this the only way? Btw, Archmage is a beast, i was literally O.O when i first saw his, ummm, competence in magic :P. Same reaction was when i saw "attacks" category of some demonologist highest summons.

Sadly when i first saw him as enemy, i was like "wtf?!", immediately went into internet, found about "these" factions, downloaded the custom map and tried them all, i spoiled my experience... I wish i could forgot all about them (especially about archmage abilities), so "wow" "mystery" effect could remain untouched.

Back to the topic, i need to play 6 more classes (High Cultist, High Priestess, Dwarf Queen, Senator, Pale One and Warlock) in order to say which are my favourite. But so far all of them, except one class... Enchanter, then Voice of El, but only because you cant control summons (dont mind crusade / inquisition and probably apoc riders), which is insignificant "complain". And talking about summons, i think it is first game that treats angels as stupid ones ;D.

I think developers made them unplayable because they are copies of other races in general. They can appear as random opponents on higher difficulties but chance is very low. So the only way is to edit maps and set them for player or for ai. Actually its very easy. Sadly, no idea how to put them as playable factions in new game generator.

Archmage is very tough ai opponent because he spawns elementals without limits, he also spawns demons and undead but in small numbers. He has great weakness. Archmage is irreplaceable unit, so if he will die in battle, its basically game over.

I once played as demonologist, sent one of those hell lords to south. He attacked army of 1000 hoburgs. One entire battlefield spell - about 980 hoburgs were dead in first round.

You can try "angelic gift of reason" mod which allows you to control those stupid angels and saints. I enjoyed Voice of El much more with it. Also, its first game where deers can kick angels asses :rimanah:

Thanks, now its completely clear for me.

Hahah, main word "if" :), but it is where RNG comes to play, like almost everything in this game, sometimes it turns out to be easy and sometimes... Brrr. Yes, it is indeed a fierce opponent, one of strongest in my opinion.

It reminds me of OP witch 3rd lvl spell (another "wow" emotion), which can polymorph all enemies, regardless of size and origin (it literally can polymorph all existing units or at least 99% of them, its ridiculous).

Thanks Calamitus, once i'll "complete" vanilla, i'll give it a go. Probably it could be ok if AI behind them was smart, but, sadly or not, it isnt. And yeah, its pretty much explains their stupidness. They could just, you know, fly away ot cast spells from sky, where deers cant touch him (though there is nothing impossible for deers, "nowhere to run, nowhere to hide" lol), but instead they are going in open fist fight with them, sigh.
