Esther isn't in the outpost.

I tried to load up an existing character, and it apperently reset all my quests. So I went to redo them, but esther isn't there for me to complete the "Find the source of the mysterious messages" quest. I want to use the mechs, but I also don't want to delete my universe folder because that would destroy all my buildings. Is there an in-between? A way to spawn esther in, perhaps?
Edit: I deleted my universe, she's still gone. Oh well, back to unstable it is.
Edit 2: Fixed! I had to uninstall a few mods. Some mod about cooking.

I'm getting the same issue, i deleted my character and world to start over, and she's still not here.
I'm considering reinstalling the whole game and seeing if that fixes it, if it does i'll let you know.

ok i've removed better foods and starchef from my game (the 2 in the pack that had food from what i can tell) and i still have the problem.

I fixed it without deleting my universe. Maybe it's a quest in a mod that your character thinks is a higher priority than the story?

I'm not sure. I uninstalled like four mods, one was the better foods, and another was the farming part of that same mod, and a few others I didn't document. At the time, I was more concerned with fixing it.
