Magical Diary: Horse Hall

Any good?
I know that everyone will have different opinions of a game, so asking if it's any good or not is a little bit silly... some will like it, others will hate it.

But out of interest, is it actually a good game? Or is it like similar games you can find free online? Does it draw you in? Does it get boring quickly?

Any info on it would be nice, I'm considering getting it but, don't want to if it'll be a waste of money.

EDIT - I bought it, and I LOVE it. I agree that it can get boring but I think that depends on your gameplay, you actually have to take different paths to keep the gameplay fun.
Thanks for the info guys.

This was my first proper otome game sort of thing (unless you count Atelier Rorona but I don't). I have not yet played any other otome type games other than Castle Chase.

I really enjoyed Magical Diary for two of the paths specifically. Especially as one path was one I could relate to and had a character whose type would/has actually appealed to me on a real person as well. I think that some paths are more suited to the tastes of people of different ages and personalities, which works out well (for example, I didn't particularly enjoy Donald's path, but that was not an issue of writing.) The dungeons are brief but interesting.

As to drawing in, it did for me on the afforementioned 2 paths, especially my favorite one. I managed to start playing at 7pm one night and stopped at 3am... Then the following night did similar and stopped at 4am. Despite having work in the morning... <_< I do this with manga as well.

Obviously that won't be the case for everyone, I can be quite different from the majority in my experience. So don't take my opinion as definitive. ^_^

(If it helps, I normally mainly play things like JRPG's or oldschool adventure games and the Alchemist of Arland - Atelier series games, and I enjoy shoujo and josei anime and manga.)
No its SOOOOO boring you might as well read a book it will excite you more.Serioulsy thi swas such a waste of money i spent 6 hours playing it and there was no game to be found just a bunch of Text with very little interaction. utte rwaste of time and money
Same here utterly boring
I'd ignore the 2 people above. There's a lot of text, sure, but little interaction? There's loads. Plus there's actually a lot of replay value.

Coming from someone who has never played this type of game before, I really enjoyed it and after finishing up the 3 endings I didn't get, I'm searching for more games.

Try out the demo. If you like the game, then buy it. If not, then don't.
Personallly, I loved it! I've played through several times in order to see all the different paths and endings. I fall into the same group as CharkAttack.

I think the people who didn't enjoy MD didn't understand what this game is about when they bought it. This is basically a visual novel. It does, indeed, require a lot of reading and that you become invested in your own character. If you don't enjoy reading, you're not going to enjoy the game. (I LOVE reading, so this was awesome, to me.)
I really liked this. It's somewhat combo of RPG, adventure and drama in the form of visual novel. Achievements are quite challenging, and characters are developed very nice. The only thing I didn't liked was the soundtrack. I mean, it's nice, but it's getting overly repetitive. So 8/10.
