Is this Post Void inspired?
The death timer, sliding and level design all remind me a lot of it.

Still seems pretty distinct with the anime flavour and levels with different mechanics for spice, looks cool :)

Yup seems pretty much like Post void turbo mega overdrive XL max hyper V2

Probably. But that works for me. A good game can take whatever inspiration it wants.

The art and music choices 100% remind me of the game Paradise KIller. So much it made me wonder if it was the same dev/devs. Did anyone that worked on this, work on that game as well?

Or are both games inspired by the same things in 80s and 90s culture?

yeah it's a 1:1 ripoff gameplay-wise outside of the glory kills which they also copied. At least it's got a lot of work done on the visuals or this would be a pretty shameless title.
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I'm glad I'm not the only person who thought that--it actually looks *slower* than Post Void.

Still, cool to see.

This was my first thought as well. I loved Post Void and was actually hoping this was a spiritual sequel from the same developer. But I'm fine that it's not, I guess.

Might even be that post void was the start of a new genre? Speed-Shooter, maybe Sprint-Shooter? Or, given how the movement and momentum of Post Void and Mad Jack are actually kinda similar to the old school counter strike and quake game mode... Maybe we can call these "Surf Shooters"?

I think that rolls off the tongue pretty nicely and conveys the sense of "Always maintain momentum and keep moving forward" nicely.

"Inspired".

I thought maybe it was a sequel.

we know the post void devs at gamescom, they loved our idea and helped ur to make the game even faster. we both think post void and neon white are a new subgenre of FPS and we are very grateful to them.
