How are you currently launching hammer?

I am launching the game through the source SDK app

That program is no longer used. You now launch hammer from the games bin folder or if it's a newer game the dedicated authoring tools (Left 4 Dead 2 and Portal 2 as an example)

well i have been trying with portal 2 but hammer just doesnt launch. you can see it on another discussion i made
