Do you need to summon Satan to get this game to run?

Alright,
I've tried darn near everything to get this game to run and it eludes me everytime.
I've reinstalled, I've verified, I've tried all of the campatability modes, administrator, praying to Cthulhu, and offering my first born.
But the moment I start the game: Nothing.
I'm using Win 7 64, with a 1920x1080 60hz tv monitor.
This isn't my first time having a problem, there are many games that will not run for me, but the issue is always fixed with Alt+Enter.
It's beyond frustrating. I've tried contacting support, and they just tell me to reverify the game cache even if I have done it ten million times already.
Has anyone found a fix for type of thing?

I remember when I found dark messiah support forums, which had huge base of fixes for this game, but cant find atm. One guy answered for the most problems.

I was able to run this game on a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ computer in 2006.. and I can run it now with a good computer. You are doing something wrong, I highly doubt its the game.

I played DMMM on XP at its release, and it had issues (mm.exe stopping working), yet solved, thanks to the community

now I play flawlessly on win7-64, with ENB or 3D vision as well

having to Alt-Enter means something is interfering:
clean the startup tasks to the essential, get rid of everything unuseful in the taskbar, try first deactivating antivirus or even uninstalling it

then go back praying Cthulhu

Or Windows 7 x64... in fact it's not the OS.
OP has problems on his pc, on which "many games will not run"... Game nor OS are the cause.

It's your hardware. I played it a long time ago (before i registred the key on my acc) on win 7 x64 and it worked well. Try with some friend's pc so you can tell what causes the problem

Ah, I guess I wasn't really clear enough in my init post.
My computer isn't horrible, I can run everything Ive ever played on Ultra.
My problem with some games including this one is that, if the game cannot auto-scale to 1920x1080 my monitor simply can't resize in order for me to play it. All I get is a blue screen (the same one I see when I change display modes). That's why I said Alt+Enter helps, forcing windowed mode allows me to see the game's window to change the size.
Ive tried all the fixes I can to alleviate this, but to no avail.

The issue I'm having with this game however, is that my monitor gets stuck trying to resize because the game crashes right after launch.
I'll just try stuff till something works. I was just hoping someone had already had and fixed this type of issue.

no peoblem at all with this amazing game! win 7 64 bit and GTX 460..only issue is when u escape the game u had an error but it does nothing..

try lovering your monitor desktop resolution?

So I had given up on ever running this game for a long time. Then, out of the blue, I saw the dang light and fixed my problem.
At some point, after updating my drivers, my graphics card had defaulted back to allowing resolution scaling to be done soley by my monitor. WHich is why I had so much trouble with many games not being able to run.
So moral of my story:
Make sure your graphics card scaling is set to GPU with "Override scaling mode set by games and programs"
Now I can finally play this darn game.
