Older Build 23 > 1.0+ versions?
my friend who was one of the original players for this game showed me what B23 was like on his USB flash, AND OH MY GOSH! man!

Not only does the combat feel better, and bullets hit harder, but its smoother, and feels just, better!

What changed with the newer versions? Build 23 feels so stable.... I also like the heart stuff. But most of all the fighting and the explosions are better! How's that even possible??

if you want my opinion, Data, sir, I'd try to go back to your roots. and if I were you I'd put a story campaign of SOME kind and just ask the community to sprite it and ask them for suggestions. they'd love to help im sure. right now when older builds are more fun than newer ones theres a problem with where you're going : /

Hmmm, the only actual difference between B23 and 1.05 that impacted everything in combat would be friendly fire. If you want that back, there are some mods on Data Realms forums that may help you!
I swear its not in my head, B23 just feels better. Better than B26 even. It just feels smoother, and the AI feels more responsive. The explosions also sound better. Like somehow in 1.0+ versions the sounds were tampered with. Just use the different uber cannons and you'll see what I mean.
For instance, in B23, the AI will actually prone and take cover.

Not so in the later versions, which is ODD.

Only improvements in the base later versions is the Mining AI.

Hmmm... well, Ai could prone, but it's pathfinding was way, way worse, so AI owuld keep doing some stupid things... not to mention it would prone in almost any situation, even when just standing at one point or shooting trough some fortified windows.
So really can't call AI worse in current versions...

Now, combat... dunno... Uber Cannon and some other weapons were actually edited, but nothing that would make them weaker...
