'Netcode' is a buzzword that people that don't know ♥♥♥♥ about networking started using when they had problems with the connection to their game. It doesn't actually means 1 thing in particular.
High latency? Netcode!
♥♥♥♥♥♥ lag compensation? Netcode!
Disconnects? Netcode!
You can't 'fix' the netcode, you fix the problems above.
And it also tells the matchmaking listen servers to filter out anything higher than what you want. That's why you want to lower it as low as it can go... Like 20.
