Most underrated game of all time?

I have been playing games for many years, i dont think i ever seen a more underrated and misunderstood title.
Sure there have been underrated games before but never did i see a game that good get such low scores.
Something is rotten in gameland.

Indeed something is quite rotten. The complacency and laziness of mainstream developers is becoming downright sickening. It literally makes me queasy seeing franchises like Final Fantasy, Call of Duty (it DID have substance, once), Diablo, and others, spiralling the drain for 2, 3, 4 games and continuing to worsen.

What HAPPENED? D:

On a happier note, A Valley Without Wind and its successor definitely deserve another look!

As a side note, I STRONGLY discourage paying the SLIGHTEST attention to Metacritic's completely bogus, biased, or otherwise made up "critic" scores for any game. Look at what users are saying instead if you want some truth. :) Not just at their number ratings, either.

Ok first of all... These are not games, these are titles, people only buy them for the title, ("Call of duty game? INSTA BUY!" *Months later* "Well this games sucks...") And that's how it go's in this world. the real games are the once that indie developers make, sure not every indie game is as good as AVWW but they have no restrictions in what they can do with the game like the developers of CoD have, or Blizzard.

I totally aggree with you. I mostly get indie games lately because they have more variations in gameplay instead of the cookie cutter "mainstream" games.

I used to only use Metacritic to sort out DLCs on Steam. xD
