Game keeps crashing on start
hello I'm having this issue with the game

I start the game and then it crashes after I get to the screen where I am supposed to start a game or load an existing one:

"Fatal Error!

Ozzy_[2013-09-09-12.00] 297208 2013-09-09_12.00.01 (Wwise:2012.2.1 #4427)

Address=0xc743bc (filename not found) [in D:\Steam\steamapps\common Batman Arkham Origins\singeplayer\binaries\win32\batman origins.exe]
Address 0x41f311[in D:\Steam\steamapps\common Batman Arkham Origins\singeplayer\binaries\win32\batman origins.exe]"

I ran an integrity check on steam and it came back with no issues.

I'm stuck and the game is unplayable at the moment

same here, although the first time it started without crashing. I then changed the PhysX settings and now it always crashes

I had the same problem earlier today. I followed another forum poster's advice and deleted C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Batman Arkham Origins\SinglePlayer\BMGame\Config\BmEngine.ini and then restarted the game. This allowed me to re-enter and change the graphics settings again. However, when I came back to the game just now, I got the same error again and will have to delete the .ini file just to get back in the game. At least deleting the .ini file will get you back in. Until they fix something, you may have to repeat this process every time you quit and want to play again.

Update: I just got it working again, seemingly reliably. Here's what I did.

  • Go to your "My Documents" Folder
  • open /WB Games/Batman Arkham Origins/GFXSettings.BatmanArkhamOrigins.xml with a text editor. If Notepad screws up the formatting, try Notepad++ (http://notepad-plus-plus.org/).
  • Take everything in the <GAMESETTINGS>...</GAMESETTINGS> Tag from http://pastebucket.com/22056 and copy it to your file. This will basically set the game to run windowed in 1024x768 with the lowest graphic settings. Make sure you DON'T change the tags containing the INSTALLPATH and CONFIGPATH at the top.
  • Save the file and start the game again.

What I also did was confirm my WBID account in the mail, if the developers really fu**ed this one up, that might have also been the cause. Just mentioning this, because I reset the graphic settings to the same as before and now it starts every time.
all i did was update my drivers and it worked.

Thanks Thrakbad,
I did both of the two and it worked. I'm not sure which is the correct solution, starting windowed or confirming the WBID.

Update. The issue is with the graphical settings. Resetting them allows me to play the game. Both solutions (deleting the bmengine.ini) or pasting the lowest settings into the gfxsettings solves the problem.

What I do so I can play is start in multiplayer (wich loads fine) change my gfraphics resolution to 720 p, then go to the single player option in the menu. every ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ time I want to play, yes.

Same Issue. I went through every one of those steps and nothing works. I can get multiplayer to run fine though. I can run other high end games like Watch Dogs on max settings so I doubt it's any hardware issues. I've tried closing every other app and end tasking everything to avoid conflicts, still no luck and steam doesn't respond to my support ticket.
