Witcher 1 Chapter 5 help

I just entered Old Vizima after visiting the castle. It's midnight and I can't find anywhere to sleep. The hospital and dike doors are locked, and u can't sleep in the forge or kalksteins house. Also the nonhumans seem to just spawn endlessly. What am I missing?

Did you bring the 2 nurses to the hospital already?
If not: they should be near the area you start in after coming to Old Vizima from the castle.

No, I haven't seen any nurses. When I entered Old Vizima, I met White Rayla, I got a quest from her that I should see Siegfried in the hospital, but the hospital is locked. I found out that there are at least two places where you can meditate: Kalksteins house(only when Kalkstein is in) and the Tower. But Kalkstein is not home and I can't get to the tower. It's 1 am and almost all the doors are locked, there is nobody outside except the order and nonhumans fighting, plus some random looters. Can't get back to Castle or Dike, can't get inside the hospital or the order command post.

ah ok, seems like you took a different path than me. I don't think I met Rayla in Old Vizima nor was I to meet Siegfried at the hospital.
Just to make sure: you checked both sides of the hospital (one door is on the front where the boarded-up well ist, another door is out back)?

Yeah the backdoor is locked and the front door is where the order and scoiatel are fighting. And it seems they just keep on spawning more and more as u kill them so i can't clear it.

for me it was like this (beware possible spoiler):
After returning to Old Vizima from the castle I saw to nurses that I brought to the hospital, after that I could enter through the backdoor.
After speaking with Shani someone entered the hospital and notified me about an attack of the striga.
After that part:
Next stop: the tower near near Kalksteins laboratory. There I found the attacker and after a fight Kalkstein went back to his place. Next up would be another visit at the hospital
I hope I remember correctly, but I guess that is how it was for me.
The Order and Scoiatel soldiers never actually stoped spawning in these stoy phases!

Ah, finally figured it out. It was the front door which I was supposed to go. It just took some time to get in because the scoiatel kept just spawning and u can't go through the door while "in combat".

If you remained neutral then you have to use the back door to get into the hospital. If you chose either side - the Order or the Scoia'tel then you have to use the front door. So says the Witcher Wiki.

well not really, nobody solved the issue of simply not being able to enter, due to the constant combat.

Ah, thank you. I ended up getting insideby just standing at the door, and as soon as i killed everyone nearby, i managed to get in.

Also if you progress the game to the swamp cemetery. there will be plenty of campfires around the area.
