Batman Tweak - Utility to Tweak Performance (v 1.01)
A new project is in early development
Please take some time to read about the other community project here. It addresses memory management issues (Windows 10) and some other render-related game-breaking issues (on all versions of Windows).

Download BMT 1.01 (x64)[github.com]

Please read the manual and leave any questions, problems or general feedback in this download thread.

Version History
v 1.01 (9/9/2015) ----- + Re-enabled Texture Streaming Profiles > They need re-tuning, but still perform better than the base config on my test machine + Replaced Optimized TexGroups with Max Quality > Forces maximum anisotropy and may hurt lower-end GPU performance. + Should now be fully compatible with the recent patch v 1.0 (9/6/2015) ----- + Disables streaming profiles (will be re-enabled in a future release) + Removes read-only flag from saved config files + Adds High Texture Resolution option + Lists DXGI Adapters in GPU Info on NVIDIA systems in addition to NvAPI Adapters * Should be compatible with the patch on 9/3/2015 v 0.55 RC3 (8/28/2015) + Improved detection of NVIDIA SLI logical adapters + Added GPU / Memory Clock, CUDA Cores and SLI Array Size to GPU Info + It is no longer possible to enable PhysX-based GameWorks features with hardware PhysX disabled + SLI options in the NVIDIA Driver Tweaks sub-tool are disabled unless an actual SLI configuration is detected (no longer simply counts number of physical GPUs found). v 0.54 (8/13/2015) ----- + Experimental fix for wonky file permissions in Windows 10 >> GSA errors should be fixed by running this program once as administrator, and then clicking "Save". * From that point forward it should no longer be necessary to run the game or this application as administrator! v 0.53 (7/26/2015)[www.amazon.com] + Fixes issues associated with backing up and restoring read-only configuration files >> Read-only attribute is still preserved, but the program can work around it v 0.52 (7/24/2015) ----- + VSYNC options now only apply in Fullscreen mode >> Eurogamer's suggested 1/2 or 1/4 refresh Adaptive VSYNC frame pacing can be done completley using this tool now - no need to mess with your driver's control panel (NV).

None of these changes will apply themselves automatically; you must click one of the corresponding buttons (e.g. Balanced, Optimized, Tune PhysX Memory).

Mid requires 4GB in texture of Ram and high is only applied to shadows and detail distance or something. There is no High setting for textures and to boot this game will use up to 10GB of system memory and all of your gpu memory as well. So be prepared for that. My performance drops within an hour or so of gameplay b/c the memory shoots up thru the roof. People with 16GB of memory are the ones who get really good performance out of this game for much longer periods of time.

Just to be clear, do I just launch the Exe and it will do me wonders?

It doesn't do anything automatically. I outlined a basic procedure for use in another thread, and since there's no manual for the software yet I'll just re-paste it here:

To do what was described in the original tweak guide:

* Borderless window
* Uncapped framerate
* Texture optimizations

Display Properties:
Click [Match Desktop]
Click (Borderless Window)
Change Maximum Framerate to: 60
Uncheck {VSYNC}

Texture Streaming:
Click [Balanced]

Texture Quality:
Click [Optimized]

The rest of the stuff's sort of self explanatory. Lower numbers are faster in the Post-Processing section, I'd set "Frame Rate Limiter" to 15 and leave everything else in Framerate Hacks alone.

Shadow Quality should be left either Normal or Low and Enhanced Lightshafts should not be turned on at all.

You can do the 1 pre-rendered frame trick if you click [nVidia Driver Tweaks]. This will reduce your average framerate very slightly, but the game will be much more responsive and it's the ideal setting for a borderless window.

And that's really all you should need to do to get decent performance. If your card can handle it, you can improve texture quality by chaning the Texture Filter to 8x or 16x Anisotropic.

Thank you very much. :D

if you are useing a Nvidia card and open GeForce experience and make sure the game resolution is set to something your monitor supports
Yes I using Nvidia card and I already change the resolution to 1920 and still show black screen crash altough my Laptop resolution is 3200.

Have you actually run the tool in this thread? You can simply press the "Match Desktop" button and that'll take care of this particular problem, if that is in fact the problem. Set it to borderless window and try that.

Thanks for all the work you did to help us run the game better. Unfortunately when I applied your .exe, the game will no longer load, I get a directx error. "This version of Directx is not supported by the title, please confirm your system requirements." I had been playing the game up until I applied your patch. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game, but still get the error. DXdiag gives no problem. Other directx games still run fine. Running an nvida card. Thanks for any help.

Your driver profile for the game is corrupt. The error's not related to DirectX actually, it's something in the driver that's doing that. If you open the NVIDIA control panel and then go to 3D Settings, "Program Settings" and select "Batman: Arkham Knight", pressing the Restore button and then Apply should fix this problem.

I'm not sure why it's happening though... can you tell me what version of the tool you're running and which model NV GPU you're using?

Uhm a bit confused here. This person saying her laptop resolution is at 3200. How is that possible? Might want to change your desktop resolution back down to 1080p.

My 2 year old MacBook Pro has a resolution of 2880x1800. It's a 15" screen, so it's not inconceivable that a larger laptop might have an even higher resolution.

Thanks for the prompt reply. I used the 0.4bmt.exe. I have an old setup using a gtx480, Win 7 64bit, 6 gig ram. I7 930 2.8. Was actually surprised the game would run as well as it did. (I got the game as sort of a test to see if I should upgrade my video card. The Restore option under batman is greyed out in the Nvidia control panel (latest driver). Should I try reinstalling directx?

wow didn't realize there were laptops that reached such high resolutions lol. I am quite surpised really. Just never seen a gaming laptop from the sites I gone to have resolution higher than 1080p. So that is news to me :)

Reinstalling DirectX is effectively impossible in modern Windows. It's a core component. These games that have DirectX installers are just installing different version DX9 DLLs, and this is a DX11 game.

When you ran BMT, did you press the nVidia Driver Tweaks button? If so, did you change anything?

If no, could you open it and tell me what values it's reading?

His GPU doesn't meet minimum requirement though. Its a GTX 480. I looked up if it supported DX11 since this game is DX11 only and found out that it does have support for it.
