Uplay not connecting to the Internet?
Is anyone else getting this? I am really confused. I created a uplay account but it says I can't connect to the internet and that I can't play offline because I need to loggin once before playing offline... I really need help.

Try going to the site itself to make sure your credintials are all in order. The same thing happened to me when I tried playing ACREV the first time.

I did. Account is created, my email is signed up, my account is logged in on the website. Are the servers possibly down?

It says, "Login Failed: There seems to be a problem with your internet connection. Please check your settings or switch to offline mode." I checked my settings, my internet is up and running at 15 mbs. I don't know what is wrong.

I have the EXACT same problem and it is really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ me off. It might have something to do with a third party program we use (maybe teamviewer? Garena?) and some sort of IP conflict. As is, I'm not seeing what it could be and I've reinstalled the latest Uplay dozens of times over, so I'm just going to sit tight and wait for Ubi to patch it.

If it doesn't work, then I'm asking for a refund.

I don't use any of the programs you use :/ Do you use norton? It may have something to do with that. I am very confused atm after getting off a 30 min call with support that did not help at all. He suggested that the servers were down. Dunno. I'll wait as well.

AHOY dead thread I fixed it.

Go to the following folder: C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\Etc

Then delete the file marked "hosts". Alternatively, create a folder and cut and paste it in there.

Uplay should launch then. Apparently, something with the proxy settings of Uplay doesn't work too well with your hosts file, and Windows should recreate it accordingly.

Hope this helped.

For me, it was an issue of the Uplay servers being down, as well as the ubisoft servers not working as intended. It may not be compatible with Win8, or some of your specs may not be up to par.
