Any chance of a dos executable for doom i and ii?

Was wondering if we could have a patch or if tfhere's anyway without downloading dodgy warez if you can get this version of doom I and II running in dos! Would like to play on my android tablet in dosbox! heheh! Otherwise guess i'll have to get 2nd hand copies on Ebay!

The original WADs for Doom I and II are available in:

\steamapps\common\DOOM 3 BFG Edition\base\wads

Use those WADs, and load them using an Android port of Doom, for example, Doom GLES.

Personally, that's what I'd do, rather than loading them through an x86 emu. Save ya a little bit of battery.

ah cheers. ill do that then. Take it id are ok with these ports as they just include the shareware levels. hopefully they feature custom controls and keybaoard/mouse/gamepad support? and not just touch screen controls.

bumping this as doomgles crashes on my tablet when trying to load wads from bfg. Would be far easier playing in dosbox. So can we please have a dos executable!?

Haven't tested, but try this. Shareware EXE should load the full version WADs, unless I'm horribly mistaken. Haven't looked in over a decade.

The reason the DOS version crashes is because the BFG version of doom2 is missing the TITLEPIC lump in doom2.wad. The original DOS version cannot run without it. You can patch your doom2.wad back to the DOS version then run it in shareware doom.exe. That all said the easiest thing to do would be to patch your doom2.wad back to the DOS version and run Doom GLES with it.

Or just get doom2 by itself from Steam if you want to original DOS version as well.
