How do I fix a checksum failure?

A the game problem free.ll the classic games and Doom 3 expansions seem to work fine.When I get to then level 2 lift after going to marine command,I click the lift button the game starts to load the next area then shutsdown giving me the blue screen with the message"checksum failure generated/sound/cinematics/mc_underground/invasion/video2."....How do I fix this.I bought the game brand new and everything else appears to be working fine.....I just want to play

Try verifying the game cache in game properties in Steam client.
