Some acheivements are bugged.

I noticed while playing that I have no trouble getting some achievements (like "Ripped", for killing 20 enemies with the chainsaw) but sometimes when I pick up a PDA I get an onscreen message of "Acheivements are disabled because console is enabled" or something. I haven't intentionally enabled the console, so I'm guessing this is some odd bug.

I don't really care about the achievements, but it's just one more thing id did a crap job of implementing.

I guess it's not a Bethesda-published patch unless an update introduces new bugs.

How do you know taking a screenshot is what's causing the problem? Was there some sort of announcement from id about this?

I haven't received any achievements at all since I started playing, but I did take a few screenshots of the error messages.
