New ideas for Endless Space
What can we the fans do to make endless space better? or add on to it?

If this discussion is about adding some features for new updates, I have a suggestion.

Having some sort of a special wormhole that could take you to another galaxy in the game. I mean the game itself is called endless space, so why restrict it to one galaxy! Something like a portal to another galaxy, idk if you are familiar with the Stargate series...something like that could be interesting, to me atleast.

With various settings, you can already make the galaxy pretty huge, to the extent that expanding your borders to the maximum extent is already incredibly difficult, even with enemies attempting to do the same, due to increasing expansion disapproval. If your goal is to get a longer game, just disable all victory conditions except for conquest. If instead, your goal is to simply have lots more room to expand before you encounter the enemy, then maximize your constellation density, etc. and reduce the number of enemy races. You'll see, though, that the game becomes kind of boring and fairly untenable.

I have tried different tweaks in the game, been playing it for a while now. Yup, it is surely not easy to conquer the whole galaxy when playing with 8 factions on a huge galaxy. Ive tried it and failed many times myself. However, the game gets boring anyways after a certain point. Its just that having something new could make it a bit more interesting.
Here's a storyline, say you can get into a new galaxy and that new galaxy has some dangerous alien beings and what not. It will force the factions to create an alliance whether they like each other or not, and fight these new buggers. I know its a stretch but its a new idea or a story that could be added to the game to make it interesting. After all, that is what this discussion is about...new ideas to make the game better.

maybe actually seeing and taking control of the invation of a solar system takeover or defence.

Yea an AI that is like the reapers, say someone who only care about conquering other territories. But that part is just one of the many storylines that I feel could be brought in if you can get to other galaxies

Yea it is possible to make one faction like that. I was thinking that this one would be like a challenge in the game, sort of like the pirates.
But yea, apart from that my main idea and hope is that they could add travelling to different galaxies.

If you mean letting the AI playing a custom faction, you could make a mod for that (for the MP I mean): you just need to copy the custom faction you created (in the xml) and add the few lines to the faction.xml file (and arrange a bit the code so it looks like a standard faction)!

Well, you can still do that locally for the single player (editing your files and all). :) It's just that you need to make it a mod, if you ever want to use it in a multiplayer game (all the players in game need to have the same files / mod, otherwise, it won't work).
