Now usually its not a problem if I m the first to end a turn. The other factions will do their thing and if one of them attacks me after I pressed end turn everything runs as usual. But it seems that in some cases the end turn processing and the priority battle window (needs to be resolved) are at conflict with each other resulting in a hang-up requiring a restart.
I recently made a routine file verification and was surprised to have 2 corrupt files which were reaquired. Been roughly 10 hours since then and the issue didnt come up again. Might be the problem in your case as well.
Il check to see if my ES pops for any corrupted files
