Also, Doug wouldn't have forgotten to check the batteries.
When I was with Carley, I felt like she was really dependable, even if she was just another gun.
Hell, I came into this wanting to be Larry's friend, but then I realized, he left me for dead after basically trying to kill me. I know he's trying to protect his daughter and then BAM, it hit me!
We forget that Lee Everett is the character, even if it's the player behind him.
Should we act according to how we'd want it to be, how we'd take charge, or accept that Lee needs to keep a lid on things?
Questions. Questions.
Because at the most simple level the game offers two choices with there being variation which occurs due to those choices. So why would you want to limit yourself and not see everything the game has to offer?
Agreed. I though he would be useful, too, but for some reason a lot of people tend to save Carley instead. I think I saved him the 1st time, and then on my second playthrough, feeling guilty about letting my 1st Carley die, I saved her. I think I played it enough times to try out most of the scenarios where I got to chose who lived, except 1 particular loser I let die every single time. That's one thing I really love about the game vs the show is that if Idon't like someone, I may get an opportunity to let them get eaten alive, or kill them outright, instead of waiting to see what the show's writers will do.
Doug proved to be more useful in Episode 2 anyway and I really connected with the guy, so it worked out well.
