What is this new A+B attack?
There seems to be a new universal mechanic wherein pressing A+B during a combo will result in a special attack (e.g., 5A, 5B, 5A+B). I don't think this is explained anywhere in the tutorial or in the general or character-specific command lists; I only discovered it via combo trials. I also checked the Mizuumi wiki[wiki.gbl.gg] and didn't find any mention of it there either. Does anyone know what this attack is called and where, if anywhere, its properties are documented?

It's a new attack that can be used mid combo or alone. It tells you in the move list if you go to the first tab with the universal moves.

Are you sure about that? I'm looking at that tab right now ("Basic system controls") and I don't see it. I also can't use it outside of a combo; 5A+B just gives me the standard 5B attack.

The properties change depending on what you are doing. Normally it's the universal dash.

Right, the 4A+B/6A+B dash command was in the previous version of UNI. But this 5A+B attack is new, and it appears to be completely undocumented and only available mid-combo.

Apparently it's just the "new Special Move", according to their Twitter.

Thanks! So in a game where all the other mechanics have names like Infinite Worth EXS and Cross Cast Veil Off, they decided to name this new one... Special Move.

It's a new combo ender that gives you a large amount of GRD if you do it early in a combo. From an A-starter, you have to do it within 4 attacks to get any significant GRD. If you do something like 5C>AB it'll give you like 3 GRD blocks. It's meant to help you win GRD battles if you start a combo near the end of a cycle.

Actually maybe I saw it on arksys twitter last year. But yeah. Can use it to extend combos and link things you normally couldn't. My bad.

Thanks for the info! It seems like a significant oversight that this isn't documented in the tutorial.

A+B is a universal combo ender that causes hard knockdown, which is actually kinda hard to get in most anime fighters because Oki can be HELLA oppressive but they worked around that with 3+6+D.

A+B universal Hard knockdown ONLY works mid combo. You'll know you've done it right when you see a kind of misty red effects.

It's not to be confused like Ben seems to have previously (No shade here, just trying to be helpful because I can get the confusion :zaglol: ), with the B+C "Force" attacks which are unique little "quirky" moves for each character, and is also how they generally access their new EX only moves if applicable, cause A+B doesn't have any effect outside of combos to cancel into the ender.

No offense taken, but I have to reply since you've called me out by name :) I wasn't confused. I was asking about the name and properties of this move, since they weren't documented in-game (whereas the B+C Force Function moves you're referring to have long been included in the move lists).
