Should I finish the 1st game for story continuity?

Or is the sequel self-contained? I never finished the 1st game at launch even though I really liked it. If the stories are connected across games in major ways, I would prefer to finish the 1st game. Otherwise I will play 2 first.

good. Thats awesome to hear. I bought the package deal with the first game complete and this one, but its good to know I dont need to finish it to get the full experience.
