I'd also start with Oath in Felghana because it's the earlier game and going back to it was a bit hard for me.
But I loved both of the games and I played through Ys Origin game 3 times with 3 different characters. All 3 had different story parts and played a bit differently. So it was fine.
Ys I+II is a remake of the first titles which are very old and have a really annoying combat system so unless you really want them i would give them a pass.

Buy it.
I just wanted to toss my two cents in since most people tend to dislike the combat. Due to starting the series with newer games.
