SOLVED: Game crashes to desktop after launch

Hi everyone. I don't know what to do. Suddenly, the games doesn't start anymore. When I click play in Steam, the screen goes black, shows the UI's mouse arrow and then the game immediately crashes, maybe after one second. I verified the game files, reinstalled the whole thing, deleted the config files and updated my graphics driver. Nothing helped. I can't understand why the game behaves this way. A few days ago it worked and the only thing that happened since then was a windows update.

Does anyone have a solution to this bug? I was enjoying IW very much and have 40h on the clock.

This started happening to me yesterday and uninstalling KB5045594 on Windows 10 did the trick for me.

It also worked for me! I was trying a bunch of random solutions but this Windows Update was the problem.

In case you don't know the path, go to

Windows Update > View update history > Uninstall updates

From there just select the correspondent code and reboot.

Thank you! This was the solution.

Good news is that KB5045594 is an optional update, but kind of messed up that neither SEGA/RGG nor Microsoft seems to be aware that this update completely breaks the game.
