skill inheritance unlocks: still confused

unlock requirements say to have X number of personality traits to be X level. I guess it isn't referring to my charsima/passion/confidence etc. because I have those traits at level 3-4, yet it's still locked for me.

I'm trying to put some skills on Hero atm.

is there anything in particular that I'm missing?

Might be a dumb question but have you unlocked job changing yet? You can only assign skills in those slots when you unlock that.

I believe you unlock both at the same time, hence my question. it wasn't until after I got all my social stats upgraded to level 5 in chapter 6 that I was able to inherit other skills.

that's when I first noticed the feature working, at least.

They're gated behind Friend Levels. The first one should appear once you get a teammate, like Tomi up to level 10. Friend levels rise by eating food, giving gifts, etc.

Isn’t that only for their skills? Ichiban’s skill requirements say to have your personality traits be a certain level, which I believe I’ve met at the time yet they remained locked.

Played more today, not entirely sure what I did in particular for the skill slots to unlock themselves. All I know is they unlocked once I got all of my personality traits to level 5 or higher with the help of the vocational school tests.

Part of it came from doing challenges or getting certain conversation prompts, of course. But boy does the school give you massive boosts.

Have a look at the personality details page, it'll tell you what you unlock at each level. You get a skill inheritance slot for every personality type you get to lvl 5.
