There is no party system or friendlist ingame, but names ingame = steam name, so just search for them in steam?
SlateMaze 2013 年 4 月 29 日 上午 9:48
This is a bit cumbersome. While manageable through steam accounts, a bit more friend support would be preferred. At the very least, enhancing steam support in the game could be an easy way to go, such as "View recent played with", and seeing the names of, and being able to join, servers that your friends are playing.

PWF isnt needed.

If you want to play with friends make your own server and play there.

I'm sure people wouldn't mind a queue system where you could queue with your friends though.

no, this will ruin the game. unless its kept seperate somehow. but then all the pwf'ers would complaain they have no one to play.

Unfortunately NeedCoffee, this would be a pitfall to sink into if you aren't careful.

You argue that PWF options would ruin the game, because you think that with the current population setting, it wouldn't go over very well.

The other side is also true, you need that PWF ability to enhance the feel of the content, and to further support a larger population base. In essence, in order to accommodate a larger population, that PWF is a nice attraction.

I agree.

However I have seen many small pvp game communities die from PWF.

Here is what happens:

1) Beta ver. of game is released.
2) Community is small, but asks for ways to play with their friends. (sounds innocent enough)
3) Game turns into 5v1 every game. The PWF'ers that asked for the ability to play with friends were actually bullies that get off on things like 5v1.
4) Everyone but bullies quit game.
5) Game goes form beta to release with a tiny population of bullies.
6) New players try game and get smashed so hard they dont even want to understand what they were doing wrong.
7) New players quit.
8) players start asking for some kind of queue system to avoid the PWF bullies.
9) queue system works and now bullies are raging they cant smash face without PWF.
10) devolopers are forced to try to figure out whch group to side with, the bullies that have been loyal to the game since beta (but are actually the problem) Or the new players that havent spent any $ on the game but that just want room to breathe while they try to understand how to play.

I have seen most of these happen in 4 different small populated pvp games now. Adding PWF to this game will certainly doom it.

for a pvp game to be successful and avoid this mess it needs a large population. pvp games cant have large populations when the bullies are allowed to run the game.

Fair points. Its just a little challenging that the ones who arent actually bullies are the ones penalized in the whole ordeal :)

yeah, there isnt really a good answer. Large playerbase solves the problem.

solution to the matchmaking queue: match PWF groups with other PWF groups.

And here we have the number one reason why autobalancing needs to work...yesterday.

I was in Netherdale last night on a US server in a 6 v 2 situation. Me and a grey rank versus 5 players with ranks above mine and one with a rank below mine. That's how the match started....not how it was when I joined... When I asked people to balance the teams, nothing no response, no action. They were clearly just a bunch of people that define fun in a game as ganging up to "win" without challenge and griefing other players.

I dont see a desire to win and a situation where you know you have an advantage over players as "griefing." Griefing is an action in which you do something to another player that takes advantage of their situation in order to cause upset and anger. An example would be intentionally turtling on Steam Canal when every one else is dead and waiting for the round to end.

No, what those players wanted was simply the gratification of winning; a simple human desire. If some one gets upset over this situation, they haven't been "griefed," theyre simply upset no one has the decency to balance the teams when they clearly have an advantage. It's not the other team's fault you didn't choose to leave after seeing a 6v2, you set yourself up for that situation.

Don't throw the term around loosely.

...stuff...
I'm confused as to what you are posting about... you are defending team stacking as perfectly OK? Or you are defending team stackers because they are being unfairly labelled as griefers? Or... nup, I have no idea what the point of your post was.

solution to the matchmaking queue: match PWF groups with other PWF groups.

a normal person would think this to work. sadly I have seen it fail twice. (LoCo and SMNC)

What happens is the PWF's dont have a large enough pool of other PWF's to play with.
that and they dont get to smash face easily, its more of a challange which they tend not to like
So they complain about queue times are too long. Then the Dev's have to attempt to code a better matchmaker. One that makes both the PWF's and the casuals happy. but without 3k+ playerbase it is almost impossible.
