AMD doesn't work with High Rendering Quality?

When using the High Rendering Quality setting, I simply get a black screen that shows the flames from torches and the HUD.
When I switch to Low Rendering Quality, I can see the textures.

I'm curious if this is just an issue with AMD cards, and if there's more compatible drivers I should look for.

My card is AMD Radeon HD 6800.

I have a Radeon Mobility 5165. I have no problems with high settings. Try to update your driver!

I used the Catalyst Control Center to search for an update, I got nothing. I'll keep looking.

EDIT: Tried most recent driver available. I still get the black abyss.

No problems with my 6950 or 7950 rigs. Using the latest beta 12.11 drivers Windows 8 x64 Pro.

What drivers were you on before you updated to the latest? I have a 6970 myself and the game works fine at high rendering quality. Using Catalyst 12.8 on Windows 7 x64.
