DayBreak Game has awful customer service
Everquest's customer service is atrouscious, how they handle your transaction is arachic, and uncaring. Been with the company for over 7 years and with membership and 100s of USD put into the company they could care less. The statement that it's a courtesy to be able to retrieve an item that is already paid for is just bonkers.
Items not being account bound is abusrd, nearly every other gaming company has these tied to the account and is through all your characters, a prime example within the same company is Planetside 2, where everything you buy goes to your account and isn't locked to one character. Aside from the fact it isn't account-wide, the fact you can possibly lose the item through destroying it in game, is absurd. It serves no one but DayBreakGames for it to be this way, it's a shady marketing ploy. There is no reason this should be within EQ, be or lore reasons or balance reasons. We should be able to have all our cosmetics throughout all of our characters. Practically every other gaming company does this, another prime example on F2P models would be Path of Exiles, yet again tied to your account not your character. Then, to tell the customer, it's a courtesy that they can get their items they bought from the Item Shop, they can get back via another item shop. This is not an acceptable practice, who cares about the item at this point, this is just being toxic to your consumer base.

Normally I'd be right along with you brother because they do have crappy customer service ever since they were SOE, but as far as I can remember destroying an item in EQ has always been part of the game long before they had an ingame store which I am against in mmos for the record in the first place. In fact it's in alot of games the destroy or delete item feature. So I don't think it's a marketing ploy mate. Honestly the fact they added a reclaim token in the store does you and everyone else a huge solid. Before you just were azzed out. I don't know of anyone ever getting an item returned after they deleted it back in the day. Now if it was a game glitch you need to tell them that. If you deleted them yourself then you just need to bite the bullet on it. And really if that is the case the only one you can really be mad at is yourself mate. Just forked up is all. Happens to the best of us my friend. :steamhappy:

Yah, it's more to do with it being an store item, there is no reasoning for it. While you have maplestory 1 from 15 years ago or so with it's own Cash Shop inventory. Saying that being able to delete items is a part of the game is silly. Well no duh, nearly every rpg have a function to delete items. The issue is they want you to spend 50$ to get 10 slots for every cash shop type, illusions, mounts, and familiars. When ever other gaming company just gives you the slots for free. The item redeem would be nice if we were talking about an in game mob drop, though we are talking about the cash shop. No reason to be a part of your small inventory size, rather than them using the system they made. But to pay 15$ to get 10 slots for one type of cash shop is insane.

If they fixed the system and the item is still lost, i'd be fine with it. The item means very little in the grand scheme of things. It's about they have a built a system to fail to monetize off it. Every other gaming company already has the system of cash shop inventory seperate. DBG won't change it until they have major backlash. In their other game Planetside 2 they made a cosmetic to be a 1 time use only, they got major flak from it and changed the item to be used every where else. The item means nothing, it's their business model and how they are handling their cash shop.
Consumers vote with their time and wallets, if a company is ♥♥♥♥ tell others and try to discourage anyone putting money towards the company if they have terrible puppies.
