Oh, how do you know?
Please, please link to your source.
Many of us would like independant reliable reassurance about the future of Daybreak.
Can see it on updates to that article now. And the main studio that was affected was H1Z1 which was gutted and goes with the reasons of that game failing. Planetside 2 was unaffected (as per devs on reddit), EverQuest 2 didn't lose anyone major, and I don't see really anyone gone from EverQuest which means it is unaffected.
Will see what continues to happen. I hope things look up, but I don't have much hope even with that news.
Saw the same updates.
QuantumZebra sounded like he had information well before the event.
Even if its H1Z1 related and nothing to do with Columbus Nova, that is just icing on the cake. This whole situation is a mess, and puts the company in a very bad situation reputation wise regardless what the truth is about everything.
I agree. But sadly, the worst case scenario: If their assets are frozen, they will not be able to sell them off, and the only option is to shut them all down (if my understanding of how frozen assets work is accurate).
I had seen rumors of Intrepid Studios wanting to buy, but they declined to comment on the rumor.
Here is a fun article: https://thinkprogress.org/why-is-video-game-distancing-from-michael-cohen-and-vekselberg-ab24e04f0a82/
And this close to Christmas/holidays. As a friend put it though, they are probably better off working somewhere else. I seen a few companies posting telling them all to apply. Hopefully they will all find something quickly.
Agree but what the hell have they been doing with all the new hires since taking over!!
Seriously, as I cannot understand their long term plans apart from loot boxes, etc.
That is apparently who was mostly laid off, those working on new games.
What games?
All I heard was talk about making mobile games mainly but even that does not seem to have panned out.
They were never announced, but they were on a hiring spree a while back for unannounced projects (it was all over their website). The new Planetside that is coming soon is the only one that has made it, but I never looked much into that one.
