Not for all vocations. Sure, Mage has Anodyne on Y, but Magick Archer just has a targeting mode switch rather than a real skill.
If you're constantly getting pressured, odds are it's one of or a combination of the following:
1. You're simply too close. You can cast spells from quite far away.
2. You can use fastspell to get most spells out faster.
3. You can use Go! (press 1 on keyboard) to command the pawns to move ahead.
4. Not using terrain to your advantage. Use levitate to get on rocks, ledges, buildings, etc.
5. Sometimes you just have to stop casting and move or levitate away from enemies.
6. Don't have at least one fast casting spell to deal with fast movers, flying enemies, or those up close. I recommend high levin. You can fast cast it in like 2 sec.
If you're still having issues, make sure you get a fighter pawn. Or make your own pawn one and give them the rings that increase aggro and the shield beat taunt, whatever it's called. Or even more than one if you need it.
Yeah I was shocked to see the power of that spell.
Thief's ultimate skill is even more broken. You literally become unable to be harmed. It's literally god mode.
Then you have ones like the archer's ultimate skill which is straight garbage. It fires a slightly stronger shot, but leaves you completely drained of stamina and thus vulnerable and unable to attack afterwards.
This game is severely lacking in balance.
Mystic spear hand "hold my party wide invulnerability!" Lol
That far? I stumbled across it I hadn't even done Bryant's request to help the people lol I followed the elf quest pretty hard though in an effort to learn their language for my pawn. Which set off quest lines in the 2nd area, which is likely what it's tied to. But yeah story wise I'm not that far, I still haven't even gotten a permit to cross I really like to explore rofl I'm probably well past the intended route the expect me to take haha
Cast nuke.
Bank it.
Cast nuke and apply it.
Attack a few times it to rev it up.
Cast banked nuke.
Attack spam them to rev them both up.
First nuke goes off for massive damage.
first nuke further revs second nuke
second nuke explodes
GG, no re-
That said, it isn't 10% the magic user as the DD1 Sorcerer.
Sorcerer is waht got me into DD1, and I just can't bring myself to really have fun with DD2 Sorcerer. Flare is enjoyable, and Thundermine can be funny. About it....
