RE2 & 3 remakes had them IIRC, so I don't see them making an exception in this case.
What does that mean? Did village? Never played the other remakes, played re4 about 20 times

Many RE games have something called Dynamic Difficulty ever since RE4 (original). This results in certain difficulty tweaks like some enemies having more HP the better you do. If you do well enough it tends to brush the border of the highest difficulty settings. Alternatively, the highest difficulty setting tends to just default to the highest dynamic difficulty and perma lock there.

Honestly, its a pretty trivial mechanic if you're good at the games but if you are particularly crazy bad it can make enemies feel like bullet sponges and make you struggle with ammo.

basically if you die alot or take to much hits the enemiy AI becomes less aggresive and more passive. If you play well and get alot of headshots and such then enemies AI will become more aggresive and attack faster

I don't remember that being a thing in the original. If it is it's not noticeable and I've played the F out of RE4 for years. If it's there it's definitely not like Max Payne's adaptive difficulty.
To give another good example of this dynamic difficulty in the original Resident Evil 4; if you manage to do the gondola section outside the castle well enough (both you and Ashley not taking too much damage and landing your shots), then when you later reach the infamous water room, some additional crossbow-wielding cultists will spawn.
Likewise, if you do pretty bad (taking quite a lot of damage and missing quite a lot of shots), then those crossbow-wielding enemies will not spawn later on.

Anyway, if you want to read more about it, you can do so here: https://residentevil.fandom.com/wiki/Game_Rank_(RE4)
RE 4 and 5 has DA not sure about RE 6 and the revelation games.

RE 7,RE 2,3 R and village also has the DA and all run on the same engine. 4 Remake will too run on that engine.

So very likely remake will also have dynamic adjusted difficulty.

And the selected "difficulty"will only determines the starting, lower and higher cap of the hidden DA rank.

RE 4 and RE 5 on pro mode was always max rank difficulty no matter what so basically they had no adjustment even if you died 100 times.

That said afaik mercenaries and the like runs on fixed difficulty rank.
So likely only campaign has DA.

Game will likely have speedruns and very high chance that we will have tools that will show your hidden ranking.
You can always play more, get good. Nevertheless, practice makes perfect!

I dont like that. It should just have individual difficulty settings you can choose. Easy gives you more ammo, money, health, less enemy health. And the hardest would buff enemies, add enemies, reduce your health, less money.

I dont like dynamic invisible changes on the fly that effect random game moments
The difficulty still has ranks cap of minimum and maximum in every DA RE game.

So "easy"can never become too hard and hardest is often always max difficulty or can just become slightly easier.

That said sometimes it can result seeing like enemies having "random" health.

So maybe at rank 7 you can just 1 shot enemy but at rank 8 he just barely survive on"same"difficulty.

And a few things just depend on the difficulty like Crane dmg in RE 2R.

How much Mike helps in the helicopter section in RE 4.

He will help less on PRO even if you play well on normal and also rank 10.

So few things are unaffected by hidden rank system.

I would not mind a gameplay option which locks the rank to the start value of the difficulty so it can not increase or decrease.

Developers want an experience. Not a boring snoozefest of easy that people will then rate their game lower for. If you do well, the game gets harder to an extent per the difficulty setting you chose. If you do ♥♥♥♥♥♥, the game gets easier to the point you almost 1 shot everything. Look at any resident evil Speedrun and you'll understand. They intentionally almost die to make the game easier. It's actually something a lot more games should use
nope. I destroyed hardcore mode my first run while others are struggling with it. so there for sure no adaptive difficulty.

that just means the dynamic difficulty was designed well. your not supposed to notice it. I promise it is there
also note that the original's hard mode which you unlock after your first playthrough locks all enemies to the highest difficulty of the dynamic spectrum.

Not sure if the remake has that but I assume it does.
Yeah dynamic dif got me killed with krausar in the OG re4. didnt die on my pro run had the armor and max health. got insta killed by his tmp. good times
