Sync error problem

Hi, whenever I try to get a game going with a friend of mine we can set it up, join and start the game, and then it instantly pops up with a sync error detected at tick 100.

We've validated the files, and we've tried both with and without using any mods.
I've been hosting the games, and I opened port 6112 for TCP and UDP in my router.

Any ideas what we may be doing wrong?

We tried verifying the files to no avail, but as it turns out, my friends firewall was the problem.
It allowed him to connect to my game, but apparently not to play it.

Fiddling with it eventually solved the problem :)

most of the time people ask for help in the main is because say the unofficial support where this one was moved doesnt really get seen by the sins regulars like goafan whip me zombie and a few others and the ones that come\ from time to time to help. the rare times i do see unofficial support and i dont know the answer ive told the user to post in the main, and they do and get their stuff resolved.

Wow, I've been on steam for.. how long, and until you mentioned moving topics right now, I didnt realize there even were subcategories on these forums... That means I've been posting my technical difficulties for other games in the wrong place all these years.... ooops. my bad.

I figured I should make that post about finding the solution, and what the solution was just in case in the future someone else had the same problem (despite it was an obvious solution).
Wouldn't want to be like "DenverCoder9" :p
