NEVER WANTS TO START

Recently I sold my iMac and thought about building a PC with my uncle. (He is a computer expert). So, we went out and got all the parts. Almost every game I have now on my account works too good except Castle Crashers. I dont really want to buy games that are already on the store therefore I am waiting for some new releases because I want to make sure they work good on Windows 8 (Friends had a lot of problems with Windows 8 on Released games). I tried to install Castle Crashers and it took about 3 Minutes. Tried to Start Up but never wants to work. Keeps crashing and saying Castle Crashers can not start.

PC Specs:
Motherboard : Asus Z87 Deluxe

Processor : Intel Core i7 4770K Haswell

GPU : Nvidia GeForce GTX 680

OS : Windows 8 Pro (64 Bit)

RAM : Corsair Vengeance 16GB

Please Help?

well, it's certainly not an issue with windows 8, as i currently run windows 8 64-bit, and it works 100% perfect. I'm not sure what the issue would be, try verifying the game cache by right clicking castle crashers in your steam library, hitting properties, local files, and verfy the game cache. it will install any missing (or uninstall and reinstall corrupt files) to it's proper destination. Hope that helps.

@Die Scheiße , ich hab das gleiche problem hier die lösung: Beende steam, geh in den SteamApps ordner wo Castle Crashers gespeichert ist also "steam/steamapps/common/Castle Crashers" und starte die anwendung von dem Spiel als Adminstrator, das spiel startet Steam automatisch und das spiel wird bei mir dann auch gestartete ^^

Ok i thought because of your Name, its german, ill explain again, I had the same problem just Close Steam completely then go into your steam folder whereever its located "steam/steamapps/common/Castle Crashers" There you'll find an Exe for the game, launch it as Adminstrator, now it should start steam again and your game too, it works for me

Thats what I did. Now steam just does not open. It ♥♥♥♥♥ up my PC

I found an update from Asus for my motherboard and there is some improvment. It loads up the game but then crashes when I start the story

I found your thread searching for the solution to the same issue (I've been playing it on my win7 box and just tried it on my win8 laptop) ... In addition to setting up the 'run as administrator, try setting the 'compatibility mode' to 'Win XP SP 3'. That worked for me.
