Crusader Kings 2 Saves Unplayable Now
After the most recent patch on 6/12/13 the save game I started when TOG came out now doesnt work, every province is blacked out and I cant play that save, does anyone know why this happened and if I can fix it?

You might be stuck as Paradox patches frequently break savegames. When you start your next game, you should disable Steams automatic patching system.
Damn, this is the third time I cant play a save game because of new updates or other stupid things.
Yeah... in my case Steam's autopatching system updated the game despite being told not to do so. I think that's the last time I bought a Paradox game off Steam...
So... anyone know how to downgrade back to 1.10?
....Aw Cheese and Crackers. I was just about to unite the whole map (Very annoying and inconvient to do too)
I cant play also, I bought Old Gods and Update Steam after this game uplayable I unistall & install 2 times, verify, stoped autosaves, prayed to Gods, nothing...

I really wish paradox wouldn't let their patches ruin great save games, especiialy when you invest so many hours into them.
If you started this game under 1.10 then 1.101 really shouldn't break the save, it's not a very big patch. If you were on 1.09x before (which was still available in the Steam beta tab) then it could break, sure.

I wouldn't wait for Paradox to fix old savegames. It just won't happen.

If I were you I would just start a new one, thats what I did. It sucks to try and do everything over again but atleast it will be a new(er) and hopefully better experiance.
The new patch is annoying to me as I got CK2 during the 75% sale with the intention of snagging the GoT mod so I can finally play a real GoT game (Genesis sucked and I won't bother with the shovelware RPG), and it turned out that there was a patch then that made the mod incompatible, but they said they'd have that fixed in a week or so. This fix came out yesterday and lo-and-behold CK2 gets this new patch right at the same time that again borks the mod.

Ah well, the core game is good on its own obviously, so there's still that.

That doesn't work, at all. I don't know why steam even bothers to have that button available as it does nothing.

I have lost many save games to updates, you are not alone, my friend. I love this game too much to stop playing, though, so I just pick up the pieces of my shattered heart and start a new game.

Hmm.. Well I'll experiment with this and disable automatic updates. Most of the games I have on Steam don't get frequent updates so this may take awhile.
With Paradox games you can also copy the whole CK2 directory structure out from under Steam to wherever you like, as they do not require Steam to be running to play. Do that after each patch and only play with that copy and you'll never have this happen again.
