[Linux] Game starts but map is not rendered
I've tried today the linux version of Crusader Kings2. The game starts without problems and also the UI is shown correctly. But the map rendering doesn't work i just see a grey rectangle where the map should be. If i hover there around (for example starting a new singelplayer game) There is the Landname shown and a big lighter grey rectangle is shown. Is there any way to fix that?

I'm getting pretty much the same issue here, except all I'm seeing is a black screen where the map should be. The interface seems to still work, however, I can just only play "blind".

Check the wine registry through regedit:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Wine > Direct3D

DirectDrawRenderer (string) : opengl
StrictDrawOrdering (string) : disabled
UseGLSL (string) : enabled

Then try to run the executable from outside of steam if that doesn't fix it.

Otherwise make sure that you are using the most up-to-date drivers from your graphics card manufacturer.

Same here. Everything works except map rendering.

@Bubble ♥♥♥: no wine, its the native linux version of the game.

Same issue here, I'm running with open source radeon drivers. Version being

OpenGL version string: 3.0 Mesa 9.1-devel (git-da7029d) OpenGL shading language version string: 1.30

I took a peek at the error logs, and it seems that pixel/vertex shaders were failing.

Same here. Menus work, but map is not rendered. Also doesn't let to change graphics resolution for some reason.

Edit: Forgot to mention, that I have optimus system, and problem with both, running intelHD and nvidia graphics.

Mine crashes after the loading screens, did anyone get that problem? Arch 64 + KDE + fglrx drivers.

Terminal gives me :

terminate called after throwing an instance of 'CFileException'

I haven't got a problem with map rendering on GTX 560.
BigEhJay Jan 15, 2013 @ 5:50pm
I also have a problem with rendering. HD300 graphics.

Same problem, no map. Not sure what change to test where to look but it seems that multiple people are having this same issue.

EDIT: I edited ~/Documents/Paradox Interactive/Crusader Kings II/settings.txt to make the game run in windows mode at 1024x768 but this had no effect. The error.log has multiple errors related to Pixel and Vertex shaders failing with the following message:

0:1(9): preprocessor error: Macro names containing "__" are reserved.
