FIX for crash when hitting "Play" in the launcher.
Long story short, the error is in one of the optional updates for Windows 7. I'm pretty sure I've narrowed it down to "Platform Update for Windows 7 x64-Edition (KB2670838)". This update breaks my DirectX11. Once I installed this update, all my DX11 games were crashing and I had to force DX9. To fix this, you can do one of two things. You can find a way to uninstall the "Platform Update for Windows 7 x64-Edition (KB2670838)" update, or you can force Tomb Raider to render in DirectX9. There's instructions on how to do this in the Tomb Raider entry for PCGamingWiki. I just restored my system to a point before I installed the update (it's fairly recent), and then I just didn't install it. Hope this works for everyone else. I'm running the game almost full settings (no Tessellation or Exclusive Fullscreen) on a AMD Phenom ii X4 955 Black Edition, 8Gb ram, Nvidia GTX670 with virtually no problems (aside from a couple minor graphical glitches).

Trying it now, thanks for pin pointing this!
I found forcing DX9 worked wonders, but if this allows me to run it in DX11, I shall be very happy. Thank you so much!
