I'm amazed by how good it is tbh.
If you're expecting to play a game like the original Tomb Raider but with updated graphics, this is not it.
However, if you're interested in playing a different type of game with a decent story, respectable character development, excellent artwork, and reasonable combat control, this is a great buy.
Peoples that knows and have understood TR gameplay knows why this is a really good TR game, peoples that doesn't knows a F-Sht about TR, please, just STFU.
Except that not only are you rude and largely incoherent, you're also wrong.
This admirable Tomb Raider reboot is very different from previous incarnations, and to say that it's the same as the original games is inaccurate and misleading.
One reason this is different is that the story takes place at the beginning of Lara's adventuring life. Her focus is not on tomb raiding; it's on survival and saving her friends. Therefore, the few tombs are short with very little puzzle-solving. Most of what the player does in this game is combat. So, the overall experience is quite different (even though it makes great sense for her character).
I liken this game to the 2009 Star Trek reboot. It was a good movie. It had characters named the same people as in the original movies, and they had many of the same motivations as the originals as well.... but, it wasn't really a Star Trek movie. It was something new and different. Good, but definitely new and different.
(Edit was to address a difference between old and new)
+1.
I felt many people who complained about this Tomb Raider not being a traditional puzzle Tomb Raider game made it a negative thing. It isn't a negative thing; the focus of this game, something which I thought the game excelled at, was to show Lara's development. She can't possibly have become that fearless gun-baring Tomb Raider without having gone through gritty times. And so the new Tomb Raider's gameplay makes perfect sense because the combat is exactly the gritty times Lara needed to experience.
To the OP, if you're contemplating buying it, here are my thoughts. Perhaps the game itself is easy, but the story is the heart of this game. And if you like a story-driven game - if you want to see Lara's past experiences - I wholeheartedly recommend buying it.
