Glitch at the radio tower

Every time I try to tune the radio to send a distress signal I can't get the 'adjust squelch' dial to work! I keep turning it and eventually the sound just starts glitching and re-playing like it has frozen (I can still turn the dial though). So frustrated! Anyone know how to solve this?

Im having the same issue and its incredibly frustrating.

Keep turning it slowly. Despite of this it will work and you will get the solution. Be patient. Same happened to me.

On the first dial, make sure the needle is directly on the fourth line and you can hear a voice WHEN you press the button. Like this (13:09):

I somehow was able to switch to the squelch knob when the needle a little off, and the game wouldn't let me proceed - all I could hear was static. It wouldn't let me switch back, either.

same thing happened to me. I was able to proceed by dialing the knob for several minutes in one direction.

this is currently happening to me and i have no solution. did you find a solution or did you give up?

OKAY I FIGURED IT OUT PEOPLE YOU SEE THE SPINNING ARROW ABOVE THE RADIO TO THE RIGHT? MAKE SURE THE DIAL IS TURNING IN THE SAME DIRECTION AS THE ARROW IS SPINNING. WHEN YOU ARE CLOSE SHE WILL PUT HER EAR TO THE RADIO. UNTILL SHE DOES THAT YOU DONT HAVE TO BE PERCISE. SHE WILL DO THAT WHEN YOU GO FAST AND PASS OVER IT. YW AND HAVE FUN

It's a bug. Had to restart from the last checkpoint, re-do it. Annoying.

It's a question of timing, folks. I was plagued with this version of the bug. Since the one i play is on XBox, I got this problem: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-6D4fBU9kY

You can't even see the controls, so it's hard to know when to press X. Now seemingly, all you'd need to to would be to tune to the channel and then press X. But if you let the message get to the point where it just loops, you have to retune to the channel. The second you tune to it, press X immediately. Tuning the other dial will work no problem.

j'ai le même soucis. J'ai beau tourner pendant des heures je ne trouve pas le signal.
J'ai essayé en restant appuyé sur X mais ca ne fonctionne pas.
J'ai même fait tout le tour tout doucement mais idem.

Thank you. I'm playing on Linux as well and this was a walkaround that actually worked
